I’m 35 weeks and over the last few days been feeling sick and really crampy in the front and back. Also, a lot of tightenings. I really want to go to the maternity department but I’m not a fan of them internal checks they do. Iv only ever had it once and I fainted and always refused them. Do you think this is the only way they can check if anything is happening? I feel like I’m in early labour and really want to find out but if a internal check is the only way I rather just wait and see.

Is this early labour?
Hi most likely what you experience are Braxton hicks and I don’t believe they can check if this early labor unless internal examination is done. Unless your water brake or the pain gets much worst ( trust me you would know when the labor starts) you are ok to wait and see. I had a really strong braxton hicks and was to get check out twice before 36 weeks after 36 weeks I just waited at home to see what will happen and at the end did not give birth until 40w2d and trust me when the real labor started I know it was it. Good luck xxx
Just ring them up and go on if your worried it's never to early to go into labour! My waters had gone and I was put on a mointer to see if I was in labour I was sat there for hours even when the contractions started. They don't do internals unless they have to I also hate them but it has to be done at some point. Good luck x
I felt really sick and crampy, almost like really extreme trapped wind, couldn’t eat or drink for 2 days without being in excruciating pain at about 37 weeks and it transpired my little boy had turned himself breech! It’s always worth getting checked out, you’re best calling the antenatal clinic for advice just in case.
I am 33+4 I have been having what you are having but my pain and tightenings have calm down now it may just be Braxton Hicks
