I’m 24 weeks and 5 days.. and I haven’t felt my little girl kick or move yet. This is my first baby. Should I be worried or not. 😰

Hi Darling, definitely call mw and go in for monitoring as it can be a sign things aren’t good. They will monitor babies heartbeat and get you to press button each time you feel her move. I wouldn’t ever take chances , it’s not worth it. If you are really worried go to A&E and they will send you up to maternity ward for monitoring normally x

Usually the reason is baby in a funny position and you can’t feel movements.

Try drinking fizzy sweet sugary drink to get baby moving x

Goodluck

My doc told me that my uterus was facing towards my back. It was hard to find her heartbeat right away as well but they found it eventually, I’m jus worried.

Always go for a quick check up with your hospital it anything worries you. Babies tend to get quite active as soon as the heartbeat monitor is used. Last time I was at the hospital for a quick check up (at 20 weeks) my boy started kicking so much as soon as they checked for his heartbeat and he was super active for the rest of that day.

Am I right in thinking you’ve not felt ANY movements yet? If so, it’s possible that it’s perfectly normal. A lot will depend on where the placenta is situated as it can absorb some of the kicks etc when baby is still so small.

I wasn’t sure I’d felt any movements until I finally definitely did, then I could recognise that some of the other sensations I’d had were probably my baby too. The first distinctive baby movement I felt was like bubbles popping under the skin at the same place and time each day.

As baby gets bigger the movements will become more obvious, which is reassuring. I believe it’s only recommended to start ‘counting the kicks’ from about week 28, at which point baby’s movements start to form their own pattern each day. If ever they vary from that you should definitely go and get checked at the hospital. I did late in pregnancy and was very worried, only to be told my contractions were ‘coming along nicely’. Bit of a shock as I couldn’t even feel them! 😳😂 I went into labour at 4am the next morning

Try not to worry. But speak to your midwife for advice x

If you ever feel concerned with your pregnancy. Always ring down the midwife ward in your nearest hospital. Because nothing worse then being worried. Try putting a cold glass of water on your belly to see if she reacts to it. I heard that helps or drink a cold glass of water!! Are you drinking plenty + eating. Hope things are ok for you hun. Whenever your worried though go straight down and get them to monitor you 💗 she / he may just be lazy lol. But nothing worse not feeling movements! Xx

If you are concerned speak to the midwife.

However I didn’t feel movement until around 24 weeks and it was very regular until 28. I had an anterior placenta so takes longer to feel movement x
