Brushing my teeth nightmare

I’m 14 weeks pregnant and I’m finding it so hard to brush my teeth. Literally I pick up the brush and I feel like I wanna be sick. It’s becoming such a pain. Does anyone else experience this? If so any tips.....

I also had this when I suffered with sickness in the first 16 weeks. I basically reduced my brushing to just once a day (some days never when I was having a bad episode) and brushed them when I felt like it. It is known that it can trigger sickness so I wouldn't beat yourself up too much. I also stopped showering for a good while because that made me vomit too! I'm not as sick anymore and nearly ready to pop but brushing my teeth can still bother me. My advice would be to brush them when you can, when you feel like it and maybe try different flavour or even kids toothpastes to take the strong taste away.

I've had a problem with this, especially brushing/flossing my back teeth. A lot of the time it makes me gag and I've had to stop. I don't really have any tips but completely sympathise, as it's not nice! When I haven't been able to brush my back teeth I've used a mouthwash so they are at least getting some kind of clean/protection. I'm aware pregnancy can take a toll on the teeth anyway and not brushing certainly isn't going to help with that, but sometimes it has been impossible to brush them. I'm nearly 13 weeks and am hoping it won't last the whole pregnancy!

Yes I've always gagged in pregnancy when brushing my teeth. Just do it quick! That's the only advice I have. It got better for me after about 20 weeks bit still happens on occasion.

I had this in all 3 of my pregnancies, the only thing I found reduced it was cleaning my teeth a little later in the day. Brushing first thing was a sure way for me to be sick. And I used mouthwash first, not sure why it helped it just did for me. X

Yes I did, had to brush my teeth very quickly so I wasn't sick but tried to brush them a few times throughout the day when I wasn't feeling so sick.

I’ve been having the same problem and it doesn’t seem to matter what time of day I brush my teeth. I found using a kids toothbrush really helped as they are a lot softer and then rising with mouthwash to try and clean them as much as possible.
