Spotting in Early Pregnancy

Hi all! I'm currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I have been spotting off and on brownish-red blood for a few days now, it started off as pinkish-brown discharge. I've had 2 miscarriages before this, so I'm a little nerve racked about this. Is this normal?

Hi was on the same situation 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy then with this one was not just spotting but there were times were I was really bleeding. I am now 22 weeks and they never knew why I was bleeding but thankfully so far all is ok. It’s good if you don’t have any pains but would suggest that once you pass 6 weeks mark that you will ask gp for referral to early pregnancy unit for a scan (they won’t do one before 6 weeks) just to give you an assurance. I was taking progesterone (given to me by polish doctor, as UK would do it) as in Poland if you have a history of MC that would be their standard practice, not sure if this had any impact but so far this pregnancy is going well.

I had a scan at 5 weeks with my local EPU due to spotting. If you’re worried, speak to your GP and ask for a referral to the EPU. They might say no but they might not. Worth a try.

I would keep an eye on it and ask to go the epu, they’ll normally do a scan after 6 weeks I think.
