Since falling pregnant, I’ve suffered really bad with constipation. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what helped? Because nothing is working for me!

Constipation in pregnancy
It's a very common thing to happen. Just drink plenty of fluids and lots of fiber should help. Unfortunately we cant take anything for it. I'm 26wks and still suffer with it some days are better than others it depends on what I've been eating. X
Loads of water, fruit juice etc. Prunes or prune juice helps. I also find that decaf coffee helps... maybe it's a psychological thing!
There are over the counter things you can buy but Ive never used them and can't remember the name of them.
The only things safe in pregnancy is fibogel or lactulose solution. If you’ve tried those then there is not much left I’m afraid. The good news is give it a couple of weeks after birth and everything goes back to normal 😀 x
Papaya is great for getting things moving - just make sure it's nice and ripe. And drink plenty of water xxx
I found lactolose helped just 5 ml twice a day for few days when i was 19 weeks...was torture Then only used it again at 34 weeks. Good luck x
I used glycerin suppositories at the suggestion of my midwife. There’s little else that’s safe in pregnancy and they definitley offered relief, even though they aren’t as effective as things like senakot.
I’ve had this problem on and off so far (i’m Just past 17 weeks). Upping my fluid intake has definitely helped but that was difficult to begin with as I couldn’t stomach was due to morning sickness.
My GP prescribed Movicol (safe to use in pregnancy) and it’s been great. I only use it when things have noticeably slowed down with my digestion.
Soft prunes from Waitrose and buying a squatty potty you get into the right position
