Work and Pregnancy

Hi, I am due to start work in theatres next month, howeverI have just found out I'm 11 weeks pregnant. Do you think this my affect me from starting my job?

Congratulations on your pregnancy. The best thing to do would be to have an occupational health meeting as it will depend on your role in theatre and how pregnancy is affecting you.

I work in ICU and have seen plenty of pregnant theatre staff in my time, let your manager know ASAP as they will make reasonable adjustments to your work to keep you safe and make sure you’re avoiding exposure to anything hazardous to you or baby. I’m also not sure if you mean they won’t let you start because you’re pregnant - they’re not allowed to discriminate against you for being pregnant so it won’t affect you starting at all!
