Ive only been in my new job for 3 months and found out im 8 weeks pregnant with my first. Its a hard risky job working with adult offenders rehab. I need advice as i spoke to management about dropping hrs to 30 as im struggling and still nothing bk or risk assesment! Any advice please.

Hey, firstly congratualtions!!

I would advice you to speak to your manager again and ask for them to complete a risk assessment as it’s the law, in your risk assessment they may ask you to report if any potential issues/hazards to you or the baby. That would be the perfect chance to mention you feel as though your safety might be at risk with the offender.

Hopefully they can help and if not then go straight to HR tell them you need your risk assessment and your management haven’t been so forthcoming.
