Feeling faint
hey Ceden273, congratulations on the pregancy. im not an expert but im 20w and often feel faint when im out especially if im stood up for long periods and my midwife told me this was normal as the baby takes a lot of the nutrients and carrying a baby is like carrying weights whenever your up and about which can make you feel tired faster. I find carrying a drink and something small helps and trying to plan where i can sit even if its only for 5 mins.
you know your body though so if your concerned you can always txt your midwife. always better to ask.
I had this with my second quite bad and it’s normal and has a medical name that for the life of me I can’t remember. The worry with mine was I was pushing a 3-12 month old in a pram whilst I was pregnant with the condition and I was scared I’d faint and let go and she’d roll into the road. My Midwife told me that if I got a dizzy spell I should sit down and put my head between my knees no matter where I was. Do mention it to your midwife as she’ll give you some advice. Best of luck! X
Vertigo ??
No it’s to do with sudden drops in blood pressure. Here is more info babycenter.com/0_dizziness-...
This is completely normal. I fainted when I was about 6 months pregnant. Never fainted in my lie up until that point. I had really low iron levels during pregnancy and had over exerted myself on a bike ride. I over heated and got dehydrated which is what caused me to faint. My advice would be don’t overdo it, eat well and stay hydrated. If you ever feel faint sit down straight away. Maybe get your iron levels checked as well. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x
It's normal hun. I fainted at 20 weeks pregnant. Luckily I work at a hospital! One of the nurses also trained as a midwife and recommended having a glass of pure orange juice in a morning and a piece of fruit. The orange juice is full of vitamin C which gives baby a boost.
Like Ribena1987 said, it's worth asking about your iron levels. My m8dwife did a set of bloods on me just to double check. Wishing you all the best xx
