Your experience?

How long was it before you guys got your first positive?

I'm currently on CD 36, 8 days late and all tests come back negative.

Not sure whether to keep testing throughout next week or going to the doctors? But as it's difficult to go to the doctors with my work, I don't want to go and it be unnecessary if they just send me away as it's been 6 and half months TTC so they'll more than likely end up saying come back after it's been a year without even testing🙄 they're like that, useless.

Any advice, experiences, opinions? All appreciated thank you lovelies.

If you're under 35 then they will not start doing blood tests until it's been a year in general... because most people take up to a year to conceive .... that's the reality. because your gp doesn't do what you want them to do and abide by guidelines doesn't make them useless.

I'm not saying they're useless just due to this. They are useless. They never pick up the phone, they're impossible to get an appointment with, they say they'll get a doctor to call you back but then they don't and they hate giving out antibiotics when you clearly need them. My doctors surgery are useless and I'm trying to move doctors...

You are perfectly within your right to change doctors. not sure why you are "trying" surely just registering somewhere else is all you need to do. I will not discuss the utility of your gps, I think it's easy to bad mouth when someone can't defend themselves and nor could they if they saw this post due to confidentiality issues. Of course they are good doctors and not so good doctors as there as people is any walk of life. But if truly they are so bad as to not call you back you should complain via their system, or change doctors.

I would say it's not the first time that people request call backs and don't answer despite several attempts, or people do not attend their appointments, happens in all surgeries ...

I'm not sure where you are but where I live, doctor surgeries go by where you live within the radius of the surgery. Majority within a 1-2 mile radius of my house, are really poor or not taking any more patients on. Therefore, I am struggling to find a decent one who will allow me to register with regardless of where I live. I was kicked out my other doctors for living out of the 1 mile radius they introduced recently and had to be registered with one that was close straight away to ensure that I could keep up my prescriptions.

Does your GP surgery do telephone appointments? GP’s now offer a lot more for people who work like telephone appointment either pre-booked or on the day. Also some do early morning starts and late finishes to offer more flexibility. You may have to ask them as they may not advertise this x

They do but they don't ever call you back even though they say they will but it's so frustrating... mine is open 9-5 every day, I work 8:20-5:30 every day x

If by Tuesday hun you still haven’t had a period, try another test and see the outcome then if it’s still negative book an appointment they can check your hcg through a bloods test ! Try not to stress as that can delay too. X

Thank you for the advice hun, I will do and I might just book one anyway for in advance and still take the test as then if it's negative can go and speak to them and if it's positive then I already have a doctors app booked haha x
