Hi I think I've had a miscarriage. My last period was in June, but as I'm 45 I thought maybe I was starting the menopause!!!! Sunday evening I started bleeding and by Monday I was in agony with really bad cramps and heavy blood loss. I went to the toilet Tuesday morning and I felt myself pass something and then I bled so heavy for about 4 hours I was wearing 3 sanitary towels. The same thing happened again weds and after about 2 hours the bleeding got lighter and so has the cramps. Yesterday my stomach felt like someone had kicked me in it, it was painful and very swollen, today the pain is better and I'm bleeding a little bit. I'm so confused because I feel so sad because I'm pretty certain it was a miscarriage and I feel stupid that I didn't realise I was pregnant.

I think I've just miscarried.
Did you have a positive pregnancy test at any point? Bleeding heavily Can happen if you're going through the menopause too
It sounds like you may have miscarried. A pregnancy test should still show positive for up to 3 weeks as it takes time for your hormone levels to go back to pre-pregnancy.
If preg test is positive you need to contact NHS 111. They may tell you to go A&E. If you have miscarried, it's important to have a scan to make sure your uterus has emptied or you could have a serious infection. Hope you're ok x
Thankyou for your reply, I hadn't done a test because I honestly thought I was starting the menopause. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at 20 and suffer with horrendous periods to the point of passing out and needing morphine for the pain. I was told I would never carry a baby to term but 13 years ago I got pregnant and after 7 months of bed rest gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl. Since then I've never caught even though we don't use contraception. It's strange but this was totally different I felt myself pass something and I know it was a miscarriage. The bleeding has stopped still in a bit of pain and I feel so tired but I think the worst is over. I would of loved another baby but my hubby is 50 and I'm 45 so I think maybe we are too old. X
I would also advise to do a test to check if positive and if so see gp to ensure the loss is complete (apologies for the insensitive way that is written) As the previous poster said heavy bleeding and passing of clots can also happen in menopause. X
