Why did I miscarry both of my twins? Why not just one? Why did they both die? 😞

I've known I was pregnant for around a month. Today, I had an emergency scan from 2 weeks of bleeding, like a period & cramping.

I got told "it's twins!", I started crying with shock and joy. I then got told that no heartbeat could be found on either of them, they got a second and a third opinion and both had passed away. Why, why, why have I lost both of my babies?

Does that mean something is wrong with my womb or the environment? Was I not eating enough & passing enough nutrients down to them?

Why did I lose both? Why not one? They both died, which makes me feel as if there's something wrong with me.

Also, was this an identical pregnancy as I think they are sharing the same sac? I'm clueless. Thank you for any help and answers.

Alot of the time there is no answer whig is the most frustrating thing. Just like people who bleed alot when pregnant they can't explain why women bleed in pregnancy but some do and their babies are fine and some don't make it. Sometimes there are reasons like blood group if your Rh- I think it is or something cos you need a injection. My friend was rh- and never knew so she got pregnant once had miscarriage and still never knew... got pregnant again got to 8 weeks lost it and got told it's all because she is rh-. I hope you get some answers and I am sorry this happened to you. It's an awful situation and I hope you manage somehow to get through it.

I lost twins at Christmas 4 years ago. One at 5 weeks and the other one grew too 8 weeks. I could never get my head round why both of them had gone. All I got told was there's something wrong with the embryos and they could just never develop properly. I found the epu didn't really care and didn't try to answer my questions. In time it will get easier. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you find some answers to help you feel better. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and have found comfort in realising I'm not to blame and I couldn't have done anything to prevent what happened. Lots of love for the future xx

Im sorry for your loss. I'm afraid why is question that is unlikely to ever be answered. But you are not to be blamed. Miscarriages are very common and if babies were sharing a sac/identical the would share dna and any problems that go along with. Babies need very little nutrients at these stage, and as long as you're not using drugs or drinking heavily baby(s) should manage ok.

If you were never pregnant before the blood group is not relevant, (and if so its only relevant if you blood group is negative).

Make sure you surround yourself by friends and family and look after yourself.

Hi, I'm no medical expert but I have read that nearly all miscarriages happen before 8 weeks and have practically nothing to do with the mother nor are "caused" by behaviours. In cases of early miscarriage it can be simply that the chromosones didn't "jigsaw" together properly to make healthy babies and simply turned themselves off. I've found this link that you might find useful. miscarriageassociation.org....

It happens A LOT. Most women just don't talk about it. I miscarried often over a ten year period without even realising - I just thought I had very heavy irregular periods - ends up I had very bad fybroids that were ending my pregnancies.

Grieve for your lost ones but take heart - if they left it was because they weren't ready to make the journey and there was nothing you could do about it. I wish you all the best for your future x

Found out why everybody, it was because my blood was Nevative so my immune system fought at the babies as it didn't understand what was new in my body.

Had my anti-D injection now so that it won't happen in the future pregnancies! Thanks for all your kind answers x
