I think you might be able to use the nasal sprays perhaps - this definitely helps with itchy throat/ears at least but not sure if it does anything for itchy eyes or runny nose. x

Hi there, yes I think there are certain nasal sprays and eye drops you can use. Just pop in to a local pharmacy and ask to speak to them, they'll be able to advise what's best. Hayfever is absolute torture, hope you get some relief xxx

Some anti-histamines are fine as well, during my first pregnancy I had horrendous exzema and alergic reactions so had a lot of cortisone/steroid creams and anti-histamines. So never had hay fever but if I were you I'd see a GP and get prescribed medication which is not dangerous during pregnancy, there's definitely stuff out there you can take, but discuss it with the GP.

Loratidine is supposed to be safe. Speak to a pharmacist x

I suggest speaking to a pharmacist first, and taking their recommendation with you to a gp. They are much more knowledgeable about drugs and risks. Doctors, especially gps, are liable to say no to everything in pregnancy and breastfeeding moms as they can be very risk averse, and rather than saying they'll find out what you can have say no.

Yes you can use nasal sprays and eye drops.

You can use loratadine when breast feeding so it may be safe for hay fever although I don't know myself just ask x

I asked my midwife yesterday and she said DO NOT take anything over the counter from the pharmacist, but go to the GP and get a prescription for a specific 'pregnancy-safe' treatment.

Not what you're looking for?
