Completely congested

Hi all,

I was wondering if any if you have suffered/are suffering from severe congestion? If so, do you have any recommendations for dealing with it? It's driving me crazy not being able to breathe!

Hey Kat, I remember this with my pregnancy. How far along are you? Mine was definitely worse during the first trimester and by the end of the second trimester it had pretty much resolved itself. A lot of people suggested the nose strips for sleeping at night - I live in a small town in South Africa and couldn't find them here but maybe you'll have more luck. In the end I resorted to vicks on a tissue and kept that near to me at all times. It helped make it slightly less annoying. Good luck :)

You could try using a neti pot with warm salt water-I swear by it! Takes a little practise though! Look it up :-)

Hi, I'm 16 weeks. Been like this since the beginning. im currently using Vicks at night just to help me get off to sleep but waking up throughout the night. I've been told about these neti pots but no idea what they are. At this stage I'll try anything! Haha.

I suffered with this when pregnant too, and it really effected my sinus - what I found really helped was some olbas oil, a couple drops, in a bowl of boiling water which I would sit at the kitchen table with, with a towel draped over my head and inhale the steam.

Also, and I can't decide whether this helped or not, but your nail beds supposedly relate to sinus so you can gently squeeze each of your nails at the base and it may help with the congestion, either way, the olbas oil defo works.

Can also try Vicks on your feet then put socks on at night.
