I bought a toothpaste that had fennel in it from waitrose and this evenng I thought I would look into fennel and it has said its not good in pregnancy is this true??

Conflicting advice on herbs out there. Seems to be warnings on ingesting large amounts. Presumably if it's in toothpaste you're spitting it out though? Maybe check with your GP?

I wouldn't start eating the seeds by the spoonful, but as it isn't one of the MANY foods pregnant women are routinely warned off eating for their very slight chances of causing problems, I can't see how the levels in toothpaste could hurt. I have certainly cooked with them whilst pregnant to no obvious harm.
