Looks good to me seems to cover most things. Could it flash up to new sign ups on NCT? Do you need advice on possible pregnancy? question before getting to the forum??????????

in reply toHighlandlass22

Thats what I hope can happen, its then a good balance for everyone

Good idea. They asked me if filters were I god idea. I said no as don't want to miss stuff other than an I preggo crap. I suggested directing to medical preffesional. Like the instant chat things you get on other sites.maybe with some delay.

Thats what i responded with then thought of this this morning!

in reply to

I said re. the filters that throughout my pregnancy I've read the posts and questions even if irrelevant, because they may/will be relevant to me in the future. It's good to know what I've let myself in for, lol!! X

Exactly what I said!

I got a reply, asking if filters were a good idea, too. Like Numbers, I'm not convinced. I'm going to reply with a couple of duggestions, too...

The flow chart is an excellent idea - if NCT could have a link to that from the NHS pregnancy symptoms, instead of this forum, then that'd be great.

Another possible option is that when members sign up, they have to answer a few more questions such as "Are you pregnant?", and "Estimated due date" - if a person fills in "No", then a message could pop up with information on how to check for pregnancy and also explain that the site is not for checking pregnancy symptoms, but for parents and parents to be only.

Under the 'report' button, there should be an option which says "This post is not relevant to this group", in case someone does sneak past! X

They're good ideas! Thats what I'm going to ask as it states what they need to do other than ask here. I'm going to type it all up later today and send it, I'll add the edd part in the notes :-) x

I've just sent my bits over. So glad they're listening!! X

I just hope they act on what is said!x

I cannot see that on my phone but another member has thrown in the towel...don't blame her either! It's frustrating because surely a test in the definative answer to the question and yet they are still coming here for the answers. I totally get the fertility ones or TTC but we are not mystic meg, we do not have a crystal ball and people need to simply stop answering them :-(

in reply tocheekymonkey3791

If you mean me i haven't left? I've drawn a flow chart to send to Healthunlocked to try and get things changed. So instead of the "Am i Pregnant" question a link from NHS will now take them too a seperate part of NCT to use the flow chart and see what help/steps they need to take x

No No...I didn't mean you....just another NCT Mummy, dropping like flies which is sad, I am just hanging in there as I still want to be able to support.

I would like to see the return of....

How to bring on labour, Breast Feeding, Pelvic Pain, 1st Scan, Birth Stories, When will I feel the baby for the 1st time....all of those sorts of questions that's were here when I joined X

in reply tocheekymonkey3791

Ahh okay, well i hope we can get that back!x

I'm not sure if it's possible on this site, but how about having a ' sticky' post - ( i.e. a post that sits at the top of all the other posts ) that directs those with queries about being pregnant to a questionnaire as suggested above?

I also think filters might not work as they may filter out too much that may be of interest.

in reply toDozymum

Thats sort of whats being aimed for - however linked from the NHS website instead of durasticly changing NCT to fit around asking about pregnancy, if that makes sense?

Judging by the latest post, the questionnaire might need to start with "have you actually had sex?" If that's a serous question & not some silly young girl winding us up, words fail me!

in reply toCheekymonkey85

Just saw the start of that. *facepalm*

in reply toCheekymonkey85

Oh dear.. Well I've added it in!

Cheekymonkey85 in reply to

Brilliant lol & I like how you have included "with the opposite sex"

in reply toCheekymonkey85

Considering what we've all read I had to be definitive

Looks pretty simple & easy to follow to me but you'd think at least 1 or 2 formal administrators on NCT would have come up with this already to try & filter the rediculous questions.

in reply to

I hoped someone could have, but I guess they don't check unless reported x

in reply to

I guess not!

(Loving the typed up updated version too)

Your chart looks great.

I looked at this site loads while I was pregnant then didn't use it for a while once lo was born. It's only the last couple of weeks have started coming here again looking for advice now lo is really going good guns on his development, and I can't believe the change because of these 'Am I pregnant?' posts. It's a pain having to scroll down post after post on this matter to get to genuine posts from pregnant and new mummies.

I don't mind genuine posts but some of them are ridiculous and are either posted by people just playing games or sex education has really gone downhill since I was young.

I hope the people from nct listen to these posts and go forward with your suggestions.

in reply toangelcake78

I doubt they will, Health Unlocked believe all the posts are genuine (got an email this morning) x

So many good ideas but I think it's going to have to be the case of literally ignoring all of these ridiculous posts and just respond to the genuine ones in the hope they'll soon get bored. It's actually quite comical how sad peoples lives are that they have to post bulls**t questions for entertainment :L absolute losers!!x

in reply toEmBeebs

I've had to make a new post with a link to a website which might finally go through to the genuine ones as we ignore the questions x

I forgot to say, regarding trolls etc. - When I originally emailed the admins, I said that a lot of members felt that some of the amipregnant posts were trolls/spam. Their reply to that was "We've been reassured by Health Unlocked that all queries are genuine and they have spam filtering in place to prevent trolls from using the community."

I don't think that's always true, I've noticed a few spammy posts, or people doing research for their business, etc. I'm sure more posts are blocked, but a few still get in which is bound to happen.

Keep ignoring and reporting, is all I can say. Resist the urge to answer! X

in reply to

Thats the response I got this morning. I feel like I'm doing their job for them by trying to improve the website ha ha x
