Hi everyone, new on here looking for help.last period was 16/01pos preg test 13/02/14 had scan on 17/03 showing 5 weeks but should be more?x
If they have said you are 5 weeks then you are 5 weeks. Usually at 6 weeks the heartbeat is visible so they would have pointed that out at a scan. Sometimes your body doesnt make a lot of sense. But they are usually right on the dates.
Sometimes their dates can be out. With my first child I had worked out my due date, when i had my scan it showed I was further on than I was, I argued that the dates were wrong but they said they weren't. My due date came and went. 2 weeks later (date i thought I was due) baby arrives. This is why the midwife normally gives or takes a couple weeks as they are not 100% accurate. The sonographer also said the same to me. She mentioned that sometimes baby measures a little smaller/larger sometimes.
Now on my second pregnancy and this time my midwife and scans are showing about a week of a difference? If at all the professionals have any worries or issues they would not sit back they would see to you both, so don't worry :).
Also, have a look at the due date calculator on NHS site, enter the couple details and it will give you your due date.
