Is it possible for a test to give you a false positive reading

Ive heard of ladies having a false negative but not a false positive. Can I ask why you are asking xx

What test did u use. Clear blues r best...I found with the cheap ones they came up negative then I looked hours later and there was another feint line but I did clear blue digital and wasn't. X

Just cause I've told my boyfriend and his mum and was just wondering I'f its possible, and I used rev something can t remember the name but the chemist said they were good xx

Please read my reply to your last post.

The science behind this test makes false negatives a possibility but rarely false positives unless you read it after it tells you you should.

Take a sample to the doctors if you don't believe it.

Its not that I don't believe it just don't wanna get all happy then to be told it was a false reading, and. Read the result within the 5min guidelines

It would be unusual. Be happy! But take a sample to the docs if you have any doubts just for your own piece of mind.

I did 5 tests with my youngest be cause I didnt believe it lol if you want to be super sure get another test and do it first thing in the morning xx

The on I done I did first thing in the morning and I'm going the doctors Monday anyways x

Thanks, also yanoe when you go to the doctors and tell them your pregnant do you have to do one there too?

No I didn't have to. They took my word for it xx of course if you wanted to do one im sure that would be fine too xx

I've never heard of a false positive from a test....I'm not sure they are possible. So, sounds like it should be good news for you :-) congratulations and hope it all goes well at the docs to double check :D x
