So im 38+3. Went for monitoring on sat as had just been feeling rubbish all week. To get told they need to induce me.... so 6am yesterday I was admitted had the 24hr pessary. Had low level contractions on and off but by evening they had gone. Slept until 5.30am. When my waters went. Some contractions initially but now they've all but disappeared. Been waiting all day to go to labour ward to have the drip induction started. But I'm still waiting :-(

I'm so bored and fed up.

Once drip started how long before baby is here. Any one else had to be induced?

Was it ok?

How long did it take?

I'm sorry to hear they induced you early, I thought I was going to be able to help as I had 24hr pessary and then waters broken and I delivered 3.5hrs later. Doesn't sound like the same for you as you need drip.

Have they examined you to see if dilating and effaced following the pessary?

I understand that it can be quite quick with the drip and it can be recommended that more pain relief then you might have hoped for maybe needed?

I hope you'll be holding your baby very soon, it's all very exciting xx

I was induced with 3 of mine worth the drip different experience with all. .. it depends on how well body reacts to it my son who is 5 now was the best induction and my labour was around-8 hours I had an epidural when things got to painful and it went really well. .. midwife got me to sit on rockng chair which really helped with my contractions. ..so can def recommend that. .. all the best hope all goes well x

The key is to stay active and walk around to get things moving, I found that very helpful to bring the baby quickly

Hi, I was also induced but this was the best thing for me as my LO was far too comfortable. My waters went at 10:30 pm then I was started on the hormone drip at around 2pm and my LO was born at 9:30pm. See my birth story for more details. I did have an epidural as I was so knackered at that point. Hope all goes well and look me forward to reading your birth story soon! X

The drip is painful, however my baby arrived 2.15 hours later. I did request an epidural, but by the time they had set it up I was pushing! Hopefully it will be nice and quick for you also, otherwise I would remain open minded about having an epidural. Good luck

Ok ladies i have given birth just like that with my others no probs but i know this time is goung to be different. I normaly wakk about to help labour along but this time i have a problem. I have two large blood clots on my lungs and inject my tummy twice a day with bloid thinner clexane. Been tild by doctors when i go into labour dont take clexane .thats fine but due to clots i cant walk about for long get to out of breath . I have a job at home making my stairs and even get brethless just going to the kitchen or bathroom. Let alone all the breathing i will have to do during labour. Has anyone else had a prob like this. Im 32+4 so far been breathless since i was 9 weeks pregnant when they found clots + i still get my stabbing chest pains and wobbles where i dint fall over but close.
