I just got up, started my usual routine, and could feel something running down my face, grabbed a tissue and when I looked it was bright red. I've never had a nose bleed in my life are they more common during pregnancy? And if so any idea y? X

Bleeding nose
In the first trimester my nose bled daily & my gums would bleed when brushing teeth. (I would bleed less with electric). The bleeding continued into the 2nd but less.
You body has a lot of changes to make to accommodate the pregnancy & that includes increasing blood volume by about a 1/3.
I also had nose bleeds in the first trimester and I read somewhere it is because all the sinus tissues become swollen and sensitive. It is a pregnancy side effect so don't worry to much
I'm 24 weeks now and had nothing in the first trimester. It's bleeding again in work now
I've had bleeding gums when brushing for a couple of weeks too but again nothing in first trimester. Is it still normal even tho I'm 24 weeks?
Thanks x
Yh I had nose bleeds later in pregnancy and not in the 1st trimester...along with the bleeding gums...fun :D lol x
I read somewhere the other day the amount of extra blood keeps increasing until 30 odd weeks! I'm 32 weeks and had a nose bleed the other day. Mind you, my feet are a lot warmer than they usyLly are, so wings and roundabouts! X
Thank u, as long as its normal guess I just have to deal with it. Ah well only 16 weeks left :/ not long at all. X
I had loads too in my last trimester really bad ones remember driving along in my car and one started had nothing to stop it bar my cardigan! It was ruined lol. Midwife said they are common cos of all the hormones etc. If you're concerned mention to her at next appointment x
I got a few nose bleeds, I dont think they are unusual in pregnancy for some ladies.
