Silly question.. Is there anything as to early to use a pregnancy ball?!
Hey - I've heard a lot of mixed stories about using it too early, some people say you can use it all the way through pregnancy as it helps take pressure off back and pelvis and can help with backpain but then other people say stay away from the ball until your last couple of weeks because it could make you go into labour too early or that it could break your waters. I am not at all sure what is right or not, but I didn't start using mine till about 37 weeks. I would ask next time you are at the midwife just to make sure and to stop you worrying xxx
That's what I was thinking about early labour.. I'm only 29 weeks so still got a wee bit to go..il ask midwife when I next see her! Thankyou xxx
I've heard that you can sit on the birthing ball to ease the pressure off your back but you shouldn't actually bounce on the ball till at least 36 weeks but definitely best to ask your midwife xx
Really it will depend on the exercises that you are doing. Sitting or doing figure of 8 hip rotations comfortably is unlikely to start your labour before your body says so, and anything you can do to stay supple is good. Take advice from your midwife and go from there
I've had one quite a while now. Midwife was advising me to use from about week 28 so think should be ok. I've been using since about week 30 for back pain and pgp and baby is not showing any signs of wanting to move down and I'm nearly 38 weeks. Seems to enjoy kicking me in the ribs far too much instead x
I know a friend of mine was advised to get and use a ball quite early in her pregnancy to help with her sciatica(probably spelt that wrong). Would def check with your midwife but I think it should be fine xxx
Hiya. My physio advised me to get one around 20wks to help with pgp pain and now im 30+6 . Im doing lots of different exercises on it for my back and hips.
So far so good and it really helps ease my pain
