I have been waiting for this day,, I checked it was 4 week and 5 days, me and my husband was amazed. After 7 years I have got pregnant for 2nd baby. I have tried from last December, I don,t know what to do as I new to London. please advice me,

Massive congratulations! If you go to gp they will pass your info onto midwife and she be in touch to arrange booking appt ( history, weight, take bloods, urine...) quite a long appt. Xx

Many congrats! That is great news! I assume you are not British and not familiar with the system. First you need to register locally with a general practitioner. If you don't have a NHS number (national health insurance number), the secretary at the GP office will let you know how to get one. Then you need to book an appointment to visit the GP and let them know you are pregnant. They will then refer you to the local maternity services probably at the local hospital where you will be given regular appointments.

In the meantime I would advise you to buy the book "what to expect when you are expecting" that is all about having a child in UK. This book will answer many of your questions and give you guidance. Good luck!
