Depends on your cycle length. The latter part of your cycle (ovulation to Menses) is a standard 14 days. Work out your cycle length, subtract 14, that will give you a rough estimation of ovulation (maps to the secretory phase of your monthly).

Go on the ovulation calender on the internet if you know your cycle length that should give you a rough Idea. I wouldn't bother with the ovulation kits they seem a waste of money to me.

it's generally about 14 days from the first day of your period - but not everyones cycles are the same. Sperm will live for about 3 days inside you.

Hi I used a clear blue fertility monitor as we had been trying for a few months without success, the cbfm made me realise we were doing it at the wrong time. I got pregnant my first cycle on the cbfm, I suggest using some sort of ovulation test if you don't want to buy a cbfm as it will help.
