You will need to sand it down first, to get off any old paint or varnish otherwise the new paint won;t stick. If it's wood then there is wood paint you can get. Go to homebase or similar and they will advise you which is the best paint to get and they might even give you some tips if you ask for it, Good for you - you'll be dead proud that you've done it all yourself xx
thanks
yes we had sanded the crib already but not sure what pain is safe to use .
We bought one in homebase and re painted the legs of the crib and this absolutely stinks for 2 weeks now . i am not happy with painting whole crib with this paint . Was thinking someone can advise ( from their examples ) what sort of paint they used ????
Thank you
I almost did this, as wanted a white Stokke Sleepi, which always go for £100 plus more than 'natural' ones. However, I was too worried about what Flump might ingest when teething and chomping on the wood work... Really not sure what to suggest - decorators forums might be more useful? Xx
thanks
I would suggest Annie Sloan paint - its chalk based and goes on soooo easily! No sanding required - just paint straight on to almost any surface and then use a coat of wax to seal.

Experts in B&Q or home base will be able to advise which is safe to us on baby furniture. You have done right in asking as some paints let of toxins and gases which can be harmful.
Sure it will look great when you've finished.
