Hello AlysonaI used anal dilators for a while after I had a temporary stoma reversed following chemo radiotherapy treatment. It worked for quite some years but all tubes in the area are narrowed by the radiotherapy and that combined with scar tissue, damage to skin and loss of elasticity, and change to rectal functioning in my case as tumour was v.low down, mean that I am incontinent and yet also can v easily become completely ceased up. So a constant juggling act trying to keep things working. But dilators helped to some extent.

Good luck

i have bowel narrowing that has gotten worse over time. For 15 years I monitored how mich fiber I ate as that seemed to cause both incontesence, obstructions, and impactment at times. With the advice of my homeopath, i started eating congee daily for 2-3 meals a day ( adding in protein and minimal veggies). Most of my problems have cleared up w staying in the diet! Still have urgency but not as bad.
