Hi there - wondering if anyone out there has tried oxygen therapy to help manage pelvic radiation pain/the long- term side effects from pelvic chemo-radiation?

Oxygen therapy
Hello Otterpockets
I 'm having hypobaric Oxygen treatment for radiation cystitis, ie urine in the blood, and also have intermediate bladder incontinence caused by radiotherapy--the side effects of radiotherapy are not fully explained by clinicians!! However the treatment seems to be beneficial, I had an initial 20 sessions, 5sessions for 4 weeks, and now have a weekly maintenance session. It's worth a try. You have to be comfortable in a confined chamber ( usually with others)for about 75 minutes and it is noisy whilst the chamber is pressurised an depressured, so about 30 minutes of a hissing sound. The Multiple Sclerosis Society run some of these facilities, often in partnership with other organisations; its probably through private medical providers, but I guess at eve watering cost. I hope this helps and contact me if you have any questions
I had 60 hyperbaric chamber oxygen treatment. I was bleeding a lot as a result of the radiation burn in my anus. It helped close to 95%. I had skin pain. It’s not a big deal. You lay and watch movies or read. Good luck.
