They are a nightmare. I had been staying with our son in hospital when he'd been diagnosed with Crohn's. Anyway, he'd been discharged, we got home to find our kitchen window was black , covered with flying ants!!!! It was unbelievable. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx β€οΈπ€ππ€
I'm sorry to hear that your son was hospitalized. Seeing insects in large numbers when they're not in their natural habitat is never fun. Especially when it's in your home.
You are very welcome. Thank you. This was when Ian was 12. It is horrible seeing your children suffer, I wished it was me and not him. At the age of 19 he had a massive flare up , he had to have part of his bowel removed and have a colostomy bag fitted for 6 months and they then reversed it. He is in remission -touch wood-. He is living with his girlfriend Chantelle in Cambridge and us very happy. Our other son has problems too. He is being tested for caeliac plus whatever else they might come up with. I know he has IBS but I kept saying it was more than this, every time he goes to the loo it feels like a knife is going up him! He has found out what it is called , Dyssynergic defecation. About a Common Cause of Constipation. He has to irrigate at least 5 times a day!! In one session he sometimes has to irrigate 4 times! He still has the feeling of a knife going up his bum. It is terrible to see your bliss in pain. Again, I wish it was me. Mike has sadly split up with his girlfriend Alannah after 51/2 years, this was a mutual decision, she finished it but Mike said that either of them could have done it. He just said things weren't right but they have only seen each other once this last 12 months and when they did, everything came alive again!!π€π€they will get back together.
I cant begin to imagine the agony that Ian went through. Facing hardships at such a young age truly makes him a warrior. Sorry to hear that your other son struggles with digestive/stomach related conditions. Hope there is a cure found one day soon.
Your children are blessed to have such a kind mother by their side while dealing with health issues. I felt your kindness and empathy radiate through your text.
I'm well thnxs for asking. Wishing for you and your sons better days and nights filled with good health.
Not too bad thank you. I have been playing online chess most of the afternoon, it keeps my brain ticking over. Highlight of the day was seeing a parakeet on the apple tree, it flew off when I was about to take a photo. If I see it again Iβll have another go. How are you doing?
Doing okay. Better than this morning. Was up really early too many times starting around 2 or 2:30 am from my alarm going off on my receiver for the CGM. After lunch and a cup of a diet pepsi with caffeine, I finally got rid of a massive headache. I also had to deal with two or three phone calls during the morning.
Glad your having a good day today.
My Niece helped bake the scones recipe Jerry posted a while ago ( I took a picture and will post it soon).
Iβm sorry youβve had a bad headache today Leah, but glad itβs better now. Can you tell me what a CGM is please.
Thank you.
Itβs good that your niece likes helping with the baking, I hope you enjoy the scones. Iβm sure they will be great if itβs Jerryβs recipe. ππ
A CGM is a Continuous Glucose Monitor that checks/reads blood sugars using a sensor that is inserted under the skin and is changed (hopefully) every 10 days. I've been using a CGM for almost 6 years. Over the years, some of the sensors don't always last the 7-10 days like they're supposed to and this can cause some stress because you don't know if anything is correct or not. The system is suppose to let the user not have to do so many blood tests a day, but when a sensor acts up, then you end up using more supplies than you had planned. I do a weekly posting (sometimes more) on the DRWF group and let everyone know how things had gone. The newest posting may be a little longer than expected, but we'll see.
Yes! She loves to help with baking anything and everything each week she can come on a Thursday. Some of what we have her help us with are meals and some 'treats'. This is the first thing that I had her help me with that Hidden had done. She definitely enjoyed it a lot and so did the rest of us!
I can understand that you would get stressed if you donβt know if the sensor is working properly. Plus being woken up by the CGM receiver alarm, so you end up losing sleep too. I hope you are able to get a better nights sleep tonight Leah. π€
Those scones look very good, I hope you all enjoy them. π
