Calling All Readers!

This is our February 2021 Reading Rabbits Book Posting. You can post your comments and suggestions about any book/magazine/newspaper that does/doesn't have to do with any medical issues on this posting. You can mention about your favorite authors, as well. This posting will be pinned to the Pinned Posts for easier access.

We are starting a new section for the Reading Rabbits book posting. Each month, I will include a list of books that will hopefully be done in the next few months from now. When the book that I had talked about has been finished, new books will be added to fill its/their spot(s). Here’s the list so far. The books are:

1. I Heart London -- Lindsey Kelk

2. The Search -- Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb

3. The Institute -- Stephen King

4. The Guest List -- Fern Michaels

5. The 6th Target -- James Patterson

6. The Apt Pupil -- Stephen King

7. Mr. Mercedes -- Stephen King

8. Finders Keepers -- Stephen King

9. End of Watch -- Stephen King

10. A Clean Kill – Leslie Glass

11. Weekend Warriors – Fern Michaels

12. Christmas Shopaholic – Sophie Kinsella

13. Crazy House – James Patterson

14. The Colorado Kid (Hard Case

Crimes) – Stephen King

I’ve started reading: β€œ Home Sweet Home”, by Fern Michaels, Donna Kauffman and Melissa Storm. Each author has put their own stories into this one book. It’s an anthology. The first story is written by Fern Michaels ( β€œ Three’s A Crowd”). The second and third stories are:

( β€œ New Beginnings in Blue Hollow Falls”), by Donna Kauffman and (β€œ Bring Me Home”), by Melissa Storm. The entire book is 295 pages.

In β€œ Three’s A Crowd”, Samantha Stewart was working for a TV station as a reporter and had gone to Afghanistan do part of her job. She had a daughter and quit/left her job after being in Italy to give birth to her daughter, Caroline. They both were in Italy for 3 years and then Samantha decided to go back to the States and Florida to see her parents. It’s interesting how sometimes, even some surprises can become lovely things small or big.

I enjoyed this first story very much and was really surprised with how Fern Michaels had the story end. Very sweet and a possible dream come true for anyone making wishes for life changing events to happen in their own lives.

I have been reading, β€œ New Beginnings In Blue Hollow Falls”, by Donna Kauffman. I’m now on Chapter 2; page 122. It’s where Katie MacMillan has come to help her sister who is told by the doctor to have bed rest because she is pregnant and has had some health issues so far. She has a few more months to go before the baby is supposed to be due. So far, everyone in the entire family keeps trying to come and visit their sister and that causes some stress. Katie tells her brothers that also came to visit/help to go home. Some of the members of the family who came to visit aren’t on the same continent, so they came a long way to visit.

While Katie is there, she is told by her sister, Pippa that Declan MacGregor was living in town. This seemed to get Katie a little upset, but wouldn’t let Pippa see that. We’ll see what happens next.

When I finish β€œ Home Sweet Home”, the next book I plan to read will be β€œ I Heart London”, by Lindsey Kelk.

Okay, now to you! Can’t wait to hear about what you’ve been reading lately. Happy readings!

Thank you! I'm glad you like the posting and choices of the books I will plan to read in the next few weeks to come. The Reading Rabbits postings are usually posted between the 14th and 18th of each month. After the newest posting is posted, the older postings are taken off of the Pinned Posts.

My first pick for magazines is National Geographic. Second is Discover. I used to enjoy Psychology Today until it became more for professionals than laymen. It lost me then...can’t wait to pick up some of those Stephen King books. Didn’t know they were out there. Thanks for the heads up!β€οΈπŸ„β€β™€οΈ

You're welcome! I've been reading Stephen King books since I was 13 years old. My first book by him was "Carrie". Which ones do you own/have read? :-)

I started reading him from day one. Can’t remember even half of the ones I’ve read. Right now I’m reading the Outsider. Haven’t been able to read as much as I used to and I feel so behind in reading all the wonderful books out there. My one goal is to reread some of the great ones that I either didn’t understand at the time or appreciate. James Michener, Ayn Rand. A Tale of Two Cities....Walter Farley (The Black Stallion). So many, so little time. β€οΈπŸ„β€β™€οΈ

I read the The Outsider and it was really good in my opinion. Very interesting to see how many things had happened with the coach for a little league team.

Have just started to read books written by A A Dhand. I have read his first two now City of Sinners and Girl Zero. They were brought to my attention by my sister in law and they are set in my home town of Bradford. A bit gruesome but very gripping. Because of lockdown and the fact we don't shop on line, I have had to rely on the library to obtain the books so I am waiting for the third one now. If you like detective stories I can recommend this relatively new author.

I'm into mysteries, horror, romance and some thrillers. Thank you for the suggestion for A A Dhand books. Will have to see if I can get in touch with a library by me and see if they're open and have the books. Will see what happens.

Happy readings! :-)

This afternoon I have enjoyed a book called turning 40 by Mike Gayle as reading books hasn't been cancelled.

That's a great title for a book! How far have you gotten so far? How long is it?

We plan to have a poll based on different types of topics for books tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it. It'll be posted after 9:30 am USA time. :-)

in reply to Activity2004

Its 384 pages long and I have already finished it.

Hi just read Val Dermids Place of Execution. Never read any of her books before. Decided to then try another author Lee Childs, Blue Moon. Never read any of his books either. Now it’s a desion time as who do I read next.Harlan Coben’s The Boy From The Woods or John Grisham Camino Winds. A Place of Execution was an easy book with many twists set in the 60ys. Lee Child’s book not really for me. A few years ago I read a John Grisham book which was a really good read because it was based on an actual criminal court case involving an innocent man. This was in America and John Grisham was a lawyer. I’m really a Steven King fan really but I’m just taking my self out of my comfort zone by trying other authors.Ps please excuse my wording not good at that.

A few years ago I read the Diary of Samuel Pepys now that was very funny not sure if is still in print. Happy readingπŸ˜€

Good evening all. Last year I discovered an author new to me, Elly Griffith's and started reading her Ruth Galloway mystery series. I read the first ten over the space of a couple of months then had a break. I have just finished the eleventh, The Stone Circle which was just as good. One more to go!

She writes very well, the characters are well rounded and believable and the stories are interesting and intelligently plotted. There isn't too much violence, gore or swearing for those who aren't keen on that kind of content.

This sounds really great! Glad you enjoyed the series. Never heard of it before until now. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I will be posting a few new polls soon dealing with authors and book titles. Both will be multiple choice.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸ‡πŸ“šπŸ“–

I had finished "New Beginnings In Blue Hollow Falls”, by Donna Kauffman last night before going to bed. I'm really happy with how it turned out and the ending was a surprise. It was very sweet and I recommend it for those who enjoy romance novels/stories. The next story is "Bring Me Home", by Melissa Storm. I will start that story today. It's the third story in "Home Sweet Home". It's the shorter story in the book.

What are you reading this weekend? :-)

I have just started the seafront tea rooms by Vanessa Greene this lunchtime.

I finished "Home Sweet Home" last night before going to bed. The third story was sweet, but sad in some parts. If you want a romance/tear jerker type of story, then this is the perfect one for you.

I'm starting "I Heart London" today. Thanks to Hidden 's recommendation about it a while ago, I can't wait to get started reading the story. :-)

Its about learning about things that are important in life like friendship and relationships and making them a priority over things like careers which aren't important and some sort of golden prize and be all and end all of life.
