Learning to draw.

It took me about 10 months to become half decent at drawing.

I could always draw ok but hadnt done it for over a decade, i decided to give it another go in 2014. I watched a lot of videos on youtube of people drawing to give me an idea of where to start and what to do. I bought some cheap pencils and paper and went for it.

Its a very enjoyable thing to do as you are creating and learning as you go along, i would recommend giving it a go if you think you have an interest.

I need to do it more often though, i am out of practice.

Thank you.

Its a great distraction, it helps with anxiety and lots of other issues.

I am glad you enjoy it.

Why do you have to think about it?

Visually speaking, it may take a while to do it if I can.

Ok, if you need help dont be afraid to ask.

I was always good at art since a very young age but it took a back seat to sports etc most of my life. Im now swaying back towards more art, i have arthritis in a few places. Ill have something to focus on if someday im stuck in a chair and cant walk.

Well u certainly have a gift 😊

I am not artistic but I do have a sort of yearning, but I know that I’d not accomplish and I don’t think I can devote enough time to make a difference

I’m glad you developed the talent you have 😊

in reply to Sunfloweronline

Thank you :)

Maybe someday you will have the time to try.

Thank you :)

That looks fantastic and what you learned in a year to improve is so amazing. As you know, I'm just starting out but it's a wonderful thing to get involved in. I think everyone should give it a go. xx

Drawing looks excellent. You can defiantly see your progression especially the eyes and shading. I do a bit of sketching for paintings but nothing as detailed as yours. Look forward to seeing more.

in reply to nicholson27

I am thinking of trying to paint.II'll give it a go soon I think.

Thank you.

It's a lovely and absorbing hobby and doesn't cost the earth to try, so enjoy it to the max Thehandyman! 🙏

Hello Thehandyman

Yes you have come a long ways, did you start by using the oval method?

Thats a fantastic picture -I cant draw at all -only scribble -when colouring I always end up going out of the lines

in reply to Sara_2611

Thank you.

If you practice enough you will become good at it, you just need to be patient.. 😊

in reply to Sara_2611

Id like to think so Ive completed about 13. 6 are at home -some are pictures -1 is a well flattened cushion one is a small cover that you put on the back of the couch A friend suggested i make a business out of it -but i dont want to because 1 you need money to start one up & 2 doing it as a business means deadlines & I dont want to meet deadlines - just want to take my time over them -for my own enjoyment

in reply to Sara_2611

The business could run in markers or on ebay, it doesn't take that much to get it going does it?

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply to

No Ive no intention of making a business out of it -its just my hobby & like to take it up as & when I want to because I love to colour as well

in reply to Sara_2611

I'm the same, it's a thing to do in my own time.
