This week for our Feel good Friday post, how about some good news?
John Krasinski just created this YouTube channel to highlight some good news from around the world and it's probably one of the most cheerful video I've seen all week:
Wow, SimoneHU ! That's really nice to hear about getting Easter treats. I hope you enjoy them.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Chloe_HU, I find it so sad that media always claims there is no appetite for good news and mostly starves us of it. But ask ordinary people and they are crying out for some positivity. And it is out there, as this video shows.
My good news? On a foraging trip around local shops, my husband found me some self raising flour. Hardly earth shattering, but very welcome. It means I can bake a cake this weekend!
Other than that I'd just like to flag up once more how lucky we all are that there are so many brave people out in the world, not only at the sharp end, saving lives, but all the others too. The rubbish skips at my apartment block were emptied right on time this morning, the postman is still turning up daily on his rounds, and supermarket workers are at work facing an ongoing onslaught of customers. The sun's been shining and the trees outside my window are in bud. I'm very happy with the small things.
My good news, every morning the postman, wether delivering mail or not, always knocks on the front room window and gives the thumbs up, and smiles when I respond....., such a kind caring gentleman!😀
My good news is I’m part of a growing FB page on the North Shore of Massachusetts sewing fabric masks for area health care professionals. I even designed a new mask pattern that has a pocket for a filter! I’ve spent more time at my sewing machine the last 2 weeks than I have in all the years I’ve had the machine. In the last two weeks, our members have made and donated well over 3,000 masks to over 70 facilities and the requests continue to pour in! In addition to the masks, the care packages include treats, coffee, cards and letters from children and teens. We are also working on other needs such as sewing nhead wraps and head bands with buttons to alleviate the strain on their ears from wearing elastic ear loops on 12 hour shifts.
With dwindling supplies of PPE, we are racing against time to find other alternative solutions to help.
One bonus positive of being part of this operation is that I’ve connected with my community in a way never before. I hope when Covid19 is just a mere line in the history books, I will get to meet all these wonderful people and celebrate a job well done.
THANK YOU to all the health care folks working tirelessly day after day. We love you and we’ve got your backs! Stay safe!
