Although the surgeries are closed, at mine you can still phone in and request a repeat prescription. They will probably ask you to nominate a pharmacy they can send it to via the internet (not doing paper copies at the moment as they could be germ laden).
Then you can pick it up from the pharmacy, or have it delivered if the pharmacy offers that service. I have my medication delivered free to my house.

I am registered with the website to request it there, I dont phone them, and they then send it to the chemist who delivers it to me. I was just concerned because they are closed and wasnt sure if this would still happen. Also, I sometimes need to make special requests on the website so what happens to those if they are closed?
Surgeries are closed to patients in general, mine are still seeing some patients who have discussed their problems via the telephone with a doctor and he feels they should be seen, but you have to have been given an appointment time.
The door to the surgery is locked and only patients with appointments are let in. Reception staff are still there taking calls, so could answer your special requests. I use the online prescription request facility as well and it's still working fine.

Thanks . I dont need urgent or special requests and if I do I do it on the website. I dont go to the doctor, I am housebound. IF I need help from them othewise I phone them first thing in the morning and get a triage nurse phone me. Then if necessary they come over later that day.
Oh thank you that's a big help. I'm diabetic and due to run out of my medication soon and was worried how I was going to get it since I'm self isolating because I'm high risk
There must be a lot of people with diabetes who need their medication, plus many others for other illnesses. These things are urgent and important and serious.
Yeah. My mums the same. Shes over 70 and cant leave the house. She needs medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Is shes also on her own?

At least you can be company for each other, think with many its the isolation thats so bad. Being alone so much.
As far as I’m aware, surgery’s are still doing normal services except appointments and are limiting face to face interactions. If you order you repeats online as per usual they should be fine. I have ordered mine this morning and have not had any response to say there is a problem

You'll probably find that although surgeries are closed for face to face consultations, behind the scenes it's very much business as usual. They'll be happy to electronically transmit the repeat request to your chosen pharmacy, in the way that jeanjeannie50 has explained. But of course for local arrangements, give your own surgery a call, or send them a message for clarification. (I know that getting through by phone is sometimes also an issue, especially at the moment).

Thank you. That is what I was asking. It is obvious that they MIGHT be closed for face to face consultations because they are dangerous but still need to do the behind the scenes things. I woudlnt ring them when they are so busy, they can do wihtout that.

My son phoned our surgery and they said push it through the letter box or phone the chemist. The chemist just said they would do it as it's on a repeat. Our surgery is seeing people if they really need but but you have to phone first. What I found strange was that the surgery doors weren't locked when I went round for my appointment. Yes I would have found it strange if the doors were not locked too. But I am housebound so would not be going around there. When I need a doctor they come here or they deal with it with a phone call. Hope today is a good day for you.
