Hi all. Is there a link to the Sick Day rules as I don't know what they are? I have PMR and GCA - currently back on 40mg Pred following GCA flare, after getting down to 6mg over 16 months.

..but they aren't designed for dealing with a flare - that advice is here - and as you got down to 6mg with 16 months it sounds as if you were reducing too quickly - and you probably didn't need to go as high as 40mg to get it under control -

SDRs and increasing pred for flares are very different things. You have tapered very quickly -in PMR the average time from 15mg to 5mg is 15 months - so your 16 months taper included the 40 to 15 time too. Far too fast. You may not have needed to go back to 40 if the flare was due to overshooting the dose you need at present - 10mg might have been enough, 20mg almost certainly would have done.
