It’s always interesting to hear news like this and feel that things are progressing. However, and I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble, progress is slow in matters like these. Announcements are made but clinical trials/research are very expensive and can be spread over many years. It would be a great thing to hear included in such pronouncements that funding will be provided to facilitate the research. Pigs and fly come to mind 😉.

The thing is, we must never give up for the sake of future generations.

This particular work seems hopeful as it is looking at repurposing existing drugs - always a cheaper option. But you're right - transfering petri dish success to the real world is a bit rocky ...
