Treatment for arrythmia with meds is ongoing. I thought I had stabilized with that at 7 3/4mgm. Apparently not; I took 7.5mg Monday. I was OK until this morning when my heart rhythm(atrial flutter) surfaced again. I was able to capture the tracing on my Apple watch to send to my cardios. I felt too ill and dizzy with chest fluttering. This was before my morning heart medicine which, then, really helped. I add that I can recognize an abnormal heart tracing from my training. I did add 1/4 mgm making today's dose 8mgm.
Was this from the drop of just 1/4 mgm? Was I too active for the amount of hormone available in my body?
I spoke to my endo by phone who really had no answer and encourages very slow tapering if possible. She was trained in a very large teaching hospital and I trust her.
I have no PMR aches at all for years; its all tapering now.
Can anyone relate? I feel like no one else has had an experience like this.

Hi, I find that every time I change my Prednisolone dosage, whether up or down that I get palpitations and flutters for a few days. Hopefully it then settles down. I have Supraventricular tachycardia and also on Beta blockers, statins and Aspirin for it.
I never found that changes in pred dosage could be related to when I had an episode -paroxysmal a/f is by its very nature random and I couldn't link it to anything. Even stopping alcohol made no real difference. I still get occasional quite mild episodes on the new medication - I can't increase the dose as I'm on the maximum for someone with a pacemaker. They aren't linked to a particular time of day, it can be in the evening or it can be in the early morning soon before the next dose of flecainide is due. Soon after taking that, it is all back to normal.
I am basically constantly fluttering with hardly any sign of fibrillation. The meds reduce the amplitude of the flutter. Yesterday I had wider QRS complexes while I felt really unwell right before taking the meds.
I am trying to figure this out. I really need to be completely stabilized before the additional stress of reducing. Sooo frustrating! .
OH was like that, almost constant a/f at some level. They didn't really medicate it as it didn;t seem to bother him. He didn't do much anyway! I notice mine every time it changes ...
My heart has stabilised a lot since taking magnesium and calcium.I have had two heart attacks since being on prednisolone. I have also had to have cardiac ablations done for superventra tachycardia I don't think the anxiety caused by prednisolone was very good for my heart.Spending time in Nature.Breathing and meditation have helped a lot.Good luck
