I am on holiday and was on 6 1/2 mils of pred And the pain in my shoulders and hips and backs of my legs has come on so Increased to 10 mils. This did not do the trick So after two days I increased to 12 mils This has almost sorted out the pain except down the back of my left leg and my knee Which is rather painful The question I’m asking is should I up my dose or leave it for a few days? The problem is I’m on holiday and I have a limited supply of pred. Thanks for any advice

Flare up
Not what you want on holiday. The pain down the leg sounds like the sciatic nerve being tweaked. Is there a chance you’ve physically over done it or the after effect of travel and lumping luggage is kicking in?
You are taking the recommended increase for treating a flare and seeing an improvement so, if this were me, I'd leave it for a few more days at current dose.
As we are all likely to do on holiday, could extra activities have contributed to cause delayed onset muscle stiffness? If so, I'd try to make sure I also rested for a few days.
Depending on which country you're in, you may be able to buy/be prescribed some extra pred from a pharmacy or local Dr by presenting a copy of your prescription reorder form or the pred box with pharmacy label.
I wish you a speedy recovery and an enjoyable holiday - mine isn't until August but I'm ready for it now!
This link gives advice on dealing with a flare - but are you 100% sure that's what it is and not just overuse as suggested by SnazzyD - so have you tried otc painkillers?
I had all the symptoms shoulders and hips both buttocks and backs of legs Increasing the steroids to 12 sorted it all out except for The back of my left thigh which you of course could be pulling a muscle or something , painkillers don’t have any effect on it. Thanks for your replies just going to stick it out And see how it goes
