7mg to 5mg :)

I did it!

I posted a while back and am so happy that I have gotten down to 5mg. I think I will keep to this dosage for a while.

Well Done David 👏🏼 I’d be inclined to stay at 5mg until you see how you get on & reduce slowly in 0.5mg drops!

Good Luck 🍀

PS l owe you an update on the Cruise - but we went down with Covid as soon as we got back 🤦🏻 So will PM you over the weekend.

I agree with you when I get to 5mg I am staying there for a while.

I got to 4mg a year ago and flared went up to 9mg but couldn’t get back to 4mg so tapered to 7.5mg and flared again and went up to 8mg. Now on 6mg and slowly tapering.

I went on a cruise shortly after you, Mrs N. Tested positive and confined to cabin on day 4, then banished to a hotel in Malta for a week until official Maltese isolation period ended. To be fair I would think I caught it on the journey rather than on the ship, but of course we'll never know. Just got home and now OH is positive. At least we had a lovely view from the hotel balcony!

Oh No! We definitely caught it on board - as we started the day we returned home!

We’d Tested before we boarded although we didn’t need to as the rules had changed.

This was our third Cruise since Lockdown, the other two everyone had to be Vaccinated, Tested & had to wear masks 😷 Speaks Volumes really!

Are you feeling better? We’re both on Antibiotics for our chests/coughs, l had the Antivirals & increased steroids. I think it’ll be a while recovering completely but l wasn’t as ill as l feared - obviously the Vaccines, the Antivirals & Steroids helped enormously.

Glad they gave you a balcony 🌞

I'm quite a bit better thanks Mrs N. Didn't need anti virals as only on 5mg now, but wouldn't have got them anyway due to being abroad. It was just like a bad cold. OH was a lot worse than me, really bad chest, wheezy and nose absolutely like a tap for 24 hours but he didn't test positive for ages. I think you're right, the rules on board have been relaxed far too much and that doesn’t reflect the big increase in cases at the moment. We were asked to test beforehand but didn't have to prove it. We're booked on a river cruise next year but will have a good think before we pay for it. It wasn't a pleasant experience being shipped to a hotel in a minibus full of other coughing people and then confined to a room for a further week. Luckily a few of us shouted room numbers out to one another so we had a bit of a telephone and email support group going on, otherwise it would have been a very lonely week. We nearly didn't get allowed home at the last minute because the ship had sent wrong information re OH's testing. Glad that youre improving, hope that the antibiotics do the trick🤞

Oh dear. I reckon that's my cruising days gone. I must say I prefer a short haul to somewhere sunny and just loafing in the sun doing absolutely nothing but read, listen to music and sit in a warm pool....and sleep a lot :)

Well done, David. I am now on 6.5mg and as soon as I get to 5mg I shall stay there for a while - it will just be a relief. Take care and hope further reductions go slowly and well.

Well done - no hurry now, Get really settled at 5mg. Rod Hughes keeps patients there for up to 9 months - because he finds it helps the next stage of the journey/

Good for you! The idea is to feel as well as possible. I don't know about you but I wouldn't mind taking a small dosage forever. I'm now at 5.5 and really see a difference in my skin and the way I heal! Congratulations~!
