I have been having regular ocular migraines and this morning while walking the dog I had the worst dizzy attack ever. I couldn’t focus on anything and if my partner hadn’t provided a leaning post I would definitely have fallen
Can anyone advise if this might be PMR related?
Many thanks in anticipation of any responses

It could be that it is your ears which are a problem. The result of research 8th cranial nerve is in the FAQ section under Your Ears. Might be worth a read?
Isn’t ocular migraines associated with visual disturbance not vertigo induced by movement. I’ve had the later a few times after working under the car for an extended period and stand up quickly after coming out from under. I lay back down on my side and wait for the world to come to a stand-still and cautiously arise.
When I occasionally have an ocular migrane (usually after extended usage of my iPad, once while I was driving and I pulled over) it has disoriented me, but that was due to in addition to having the shimmering ribbon I also had a direct delineation of visual where one side was like swimming under water with my eyes open and the other side unadulterated view. That made me dizzy.
I don’t know if Pred has anything to do with it but don’t think so because the first time I experienced it I wasn’t on Pred and after on Pred the frequency or severity of the attacks (random and unpredictable) has not increased.
As jinasc says it is possibly your ears if the PMR is going in the direction of GCA.
But there are all sorts of causes for dizzy spells and it should be reported to your doctor. Even ocular migraines may be a symptom of a more serious underlying problem - have yours been investigated or just taken at face value?
I get ocular migraines without subsequent pain more often these days. In the past they were invariably the precursor to a blinding headache unless I took a painkiller. Separately I've recently been having odd lightheaded episodes, usually, although not always, if I've been walking briskly and have to stop and wait for a walk signal, or similar pause after exercise. My doctor took this seriously and has sent me for a morning cortisol test as initial investigation.
That is so interesting and totally resonates with me. Funnily enough I did a longish walk this morning and I’ve been feeling strangely light headed for about an hour. My GP put it down to my age! (73)I will be really interested to learn how your cortisol test turns out.
Well there may be something to it as the only symptom I've had this morning has been an odd sensation of not being really with it, if you know what I mean . Physically I'm fine, better than I was the day after I missed my first dose of pred. I was without pred for nearly 60 hours. I finally took 3.5 over an hour ago, and hoping to feel less detached soon as I'm hoping to get together with some friends I haven't seen for ages this afternoon. They will be sipping tea and scarfing treats while I intend to keep my N95 mask firmly on my face!
