LVV diagnosed in Dec 2020. On 10. M. g Pred and 8 Mex every Sunday. Recently in the last two weeks l go through what l call my "aggie", agitation. I can't settle, sleep, l'm on edge. Started to sweat. I can have several aggies in an evening lasting 30 mins to an hour. Is this part of my life from now on, or a phase. Any ideas.

Agitation
I appreciate your making friends with your tormentor “Aggie” but it seems an awful lot to put up with in an evening. Is there something going on in your life that is raising your anxiety levels? It may be a dosing issue that your doctor could help with. Perhaps you could experiment with mindfulness exercises or meditation? These episodes can take hold if we’re not careful and become self-perpetuating/habit forming. What triggered the first one? They sound a bit like panic attacks - so unpleasant - and breathe.
I think you need to get professional advice about this - sounds like a side effects of Pred. Meanwhile have a look at this link….partway through there is an audio link to listen to - only lasts about 5 mins but might help.
I am nosy and curious so you don't have to answer this question.
Diagnosed Dec 2010 and started of with 10mg of pred and methotextrate.
Di d you ask why 10mg an metho, when the normal starting dose is between 15mg-20mg and then metho may be introduced later, or did you already have Late Onset Rheumatoid Arthritis?
I get this on oral steroids…at best my daughter calls it “Roid Rage” and at it’s worst it can spiral out of control and turn me into a jittery, demonic nutter with suicidal ideation.I think it’s why steroids are called the devil’s tic-tacs 😂
My solution was to switch to steroid shots in the bum 3-4 times a year - same inflammation reduction minus the psycho side effects.
