Would any of your kind members answer a few questions for me please?
How do you know when to start tapering? Do you wait until youre pain free and then try or go ahead and see what happens when you reduce?
Had no help from GP with this. Been on 15 pred for a few months and am now down to 13.5 on her advice. But not feeling too good. Some pains have returned in the mornings but then get better after taking pills.
Is this the expected scenario?

Usual recommendation is initial dose for anywhere between 3-6 weeks. Why on for so long? Just lack of guidance or did you have issues?
It is normal to have some stiffness in the morning before the meds have time to work, which can take an hour or slightly more. Is that what you have, or more severe?
In an ideal world we would all like to be pain free, but it’s not always achievable- but the idea is to to taper gently to find the lowest dose that gives you the same degree of relief that your starting dose did.

i tried going to 12.5 several weeks ago and all the pains came back so Doc said back up to 14 then try to reduce again which im doing.
Some find they can only reduce by 1mg a time from 15mg - so you may be in that group.
