Sorry that you have a pain Flosys, you are not the pain. I see from looking back at your previous posts, that your start dose was 60 mgs. What I didn’t see was the period of time that it took you to get to 7 mgs. I suspect that it may have been too fast for your GCA, hence the return of the headaches. A bit more information would help. When you say “ how long does it take for Pred to kick in.” Do you mean your latest increase to 10 mgs from 7 mgs? My increases for the return of symptoms tended to produce results within a day or two, if I had increased enough. I think you need to pester your doctor some more if you are still suffering. What was your treatment/ tapering regime?

PS The only way we can fight the inevitable weight gain from Pred is to put ourselves on a low carb/ low sugar diet. It helps to stop the awful food cravings too. You have to keep at it. I recently lost the plot and the weight piled back on. The winter weather and reluctance to exercise all contributes.

Just to reinforce SJ's comments - with regard to weight, cut your carbs, drastically in the case of processed ones, no white bread, pasta, rice, no added sugar and restricted fruit.

dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto

provides all the info you need. Free - no need to join anything. Doesn't have to be keto, just much lower carb, you will find how low YOU need to lose weight.

Second this. If I could turn the clock back and with the benefit of hindsight I would have cut carbs far earlier.

Prevention is always easier than curing!!! It goes on all too easily ;)

Absolutely. My problem was lockdown sourdough 🙄

:)

There never seemed to be the excessive devotion to baking here - maybe because bakers sell really good real sourdough anyway ;)

Much easier to buy it 😁. Good bread is difficult to find round me!

Don't think we have a bad baker - and some are outstanding.
