Anyone aware of such moments 2 or 3 times a week literally for 5 seconds or so where black appears and then everything is fine again ? Thanks.

GCA and v. briefly seeing 'black'
Is that you or your mum? Both eyes at the same time? Do other symptoms occur as well? Whoever it is, medical advice should be sought. If it is your mum, this could be heralding eye involvement with the GCA and should be reported ASAP.
I would definitely treat this as an emergency Sefu and get your mum to eye casualty or your nearest emergency room/A&E. This could be a sign that her optic nerve is being compromised by the disease. Let us know the outcome, please.
They could also be just floaters which I myself see from time to time. Also the jelly which moves about in our eyes which is an orange flash.
I think that would come under the warning signs in GCA - speak to the doctors (again!).
What dose of pred is she down to now using the TCZ? In half of patients with GCA the TCZ doesn't work 100% because other inflammatory pathways are involved that aren't controlled by TCZ.
