Neck discomfort

I’ve just managed to get down to 1mg pred after 5 years. Using dsns method.

I have a few aches that have returned in the normal places but will wait to see if these go. ...My neck is getting the PMR aches now. All the way round. That’s never happened before. And sometimes is quite painful but mostly fairly mild. Has anyone any advice please?

Were you OK at 2mg? If so - I would go back to 2mg for at least some time. It is a very low dose anyway, far less than the body makes in the form of cortisol anyway. And last week Prof Dasgupta said in his webinar that he keeps many/most patients at 2-3mg for a very long time, sometimes life.

Agree with PMRPro - try an little extra - at such low doses even 0.5mg can be the difference between control and no control of inflammation.

Neck and shoulders is where I felt it the worst initially. I found a hot water bottle round the side of my neck helped but it's not exactly the weather for that today!
