Sorry cant say what's best but you could phone 111 for advice
I would just let it rest unless it's gushing. It's really hard to judge the amount of blood in your mouth, or anywhere. Did the dentist say use s teabag? A teaspoon of blood goes a long way and 2 hours isn't long. If it keeps up ring the dentist. Although pushing it time wise. Did they give you an info sheet with an emergency number? I don't know if this would help.
I just wondered. I hate tea so thought yuk!😁 Is it still bleeding heavily?

Not heavily no.

Good. It does feel weird. I have had one on each side done at once but no two side by side. One healed no problem. The other was very painful and I went back about 3 or 4 days later and they cleaned it all out which was totally painless and then it was fine. I hope it calms a bit.. 🌻🤞
Try putting a cold gel pack or a couple of ice cubes inside a plastic bag and a single layer of tea towel under your jaw, and mostly on your neck. 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off.
Oh, and sit still for a good long while. This is one of those times when moving around needs to be limited.
It could ooze bits for hours and even tomorrow and mixed with saliva a little goes a long way. If it’s dripping blood and you have to spit or swallow (not advised) to empty your mouth then I’d ask for advice.
I had a molar out a few weeks ago. It did look like it was bleeding for 24 hours. When I woke up in the morning my pillow looked like Freddie Krugar had visited in the night. However, my dentist (so lucky he was in the emergency clinic) had warned me about this. Now I don't know what you were told but contrary to everything I had read or knew about tooth extraction aftercare he told me to eat soft diet straight away if I wanted, under no circumstances was I to rinse out my mouth with salt water or mouthwash for at least 5 days, to clean teeth gently with a tiny bit of toothpaste and that it was ok to use a straw! I was surprised but he assured me that this was up to date advice. He's the dentist to the British Olympic Team so thought to myself he must know his stuff. I followed his advice to the letter and within 3 days I had a nicely formed clot and within 2 weeks it had healed well.
I hope your extraction site has stopped bleeding but if you haven't stopped bleeding or get bad pain after 72 hours please contact the dentist again.
It needs plugging - ring the dentist. My dentist told me from day one on steroids that any extractions will be carried out at the hospital for the reasons you’re experiencing. If the bloods going darker then it’s a possible sign of slowing down - I would ring the dentist though.
As you post here I assume you are on pred for pmr or gca? I remember that when as a child I used to have heavy nosebleeds the doctor gave me gauze I believe was soaked in adrenaline to help clotting. Adrenaline release is part of the fight or flight syndrome and I am wondering if taking pred might be reducing the clotting ability of your blood.
