Hi

When tapering Pred, how do we distinguish between PMR Pain or old pains returning .

Hi,

Bit difficult at times!

If it's odd aches and pains here and there it's more likely to be things like arthritis etc, if it's more bilateral then it could be PMR.

Also if ordinary painkillers help it's not PMR!

Not a lot to add to DL's post - but it does depend a bit how long you have had PMR. The longer it has been, the more "other pain" you might expect. - old age doesn't come alone and we are inevitably older at the end of PMR than at the start!

And it depends what sort of pains you mean.
