What about it? Do you mean bacterial vaginosis?

Firstly, have you been to the doc. There are various causes including bacterial, fungal (thrush), chemical (hygiene products) and hormonal. There are also some conditions of the skin that can affect the vulva, some of which are autoimmune.Have you have a swab taken to see, if anything, grows?

As Snazzy says - depends on the cause and you need a swab checked. It may be thrush, it may be bacterial. But it is unlikely you can deal with yourself.

If you are on pred it could well be thrush - but that is just an "it could be".

its neither its walking a lot(chafing) and hot weather(perspiration) all doctor could suggest was sudacrem

If you are considering it is vaginosis (not convinced if that is what you think is causing it) - have you tried using Tena pads? Even if it isn't due to leaking urine, they keep that area nice and dry - far better than ordinary panty liners, especially if you use the longer ones.

But sudocrem? Really not...

Best thing I've found is to wear bike shorts, prevents the chaffing and absorbs any sweat. A sprinkle of talcum powder will work for a short time. All the best for relief.

Ah, is it involving the normal skin in the groin next to the thigh or the actual vulva? There's a big difference. The groin is susceptible to chafing and sweat but in between it shouldn't be unless there is another problem. Has the doc actually seen it and has done a swab? Sudocrem is a good barrier for normal skin that keeps getting damp, but it could be irritant to the actual vulva. It isn't supposed to be used on mucus membranes.

I've had very long on-going problems predating polymyalgia in that area but have last sorted it out I think. Firstly nip any infections in the bud with Mannose. Secondly use of Hyalofemme gel in the vaginal area to rehydrate membranes. Thirdly restricted diet: no acid foods if possible which includes all the gorgeous fruits on offer at the moment including acid apples and tomatoes, no spicy foods or tea or coffee or fruit juices - yes very boring but such a relief to be comfortable.

In uk there is a swab test off the shelf that tests for it together with thrush. But Dr should be helping to uncover what problem.actually is. I had swollen vulva and thrush and a tendency to have carbuncles and boils under arms and thrush under breasts. Since on pred vulva been ok and since diabetes under control boils and carbuncles just about ok. In the summer I powder. If I going to try and walk as far as body will take in hot day I try "Lady anti.monkey butt anti friction powder with calamine". 🐎Expensive but you don't need much. I also only ever wash underwear (and most clothes) in non-biological washing liquid and no fabric softener. The enzymes in biologics apparently react with elastic and that's what's that part of inside thigh gets sore. Hope there's something there to help!
