WELSH NEWBIE
Sorry to hear you have joined the PMR club, it's not one anyone would want to be part of! Please be kind to your self, rest as much as possible and do NOT try to come down on the prednisolone dose quickly. We all want to get off it but slowly is the best way, having a flare is not funny! Get all the information on this site you really learn a lot and get good advice . I wish you all the best on you PMR journey. God bless Anne
I don't know where you live in Wales, but there is a lady with PMR who works at Swansea Market on one of the grocery stalls. I don't know how she does it, standing there all day.
Hi
Its sucks but keep smiling you need a good sense of humour to get by.
Be kind to yourself lots of very knowledgeable experts here to give advice .
Best Wishes
Rose
Dear ReesRacheloo,
I know how it feels, I took dihydrocodeine ,sometimes 10 tabs a day to kill all the pain and it came to a stage where they never worked anymore . But after being diagnosed and went on prednisone 15mg, a day, I started to feel better (my weight than was 10 1/2 stones, now12stones) ,by the 3rd week I was great and by 4th week, no more pain, The side effects are something we don't like but we have to put up with it. I just started to reduce it to 12.5mg and I am perspiring like hell.
Warmest Regards,
raptorabz
Hi Rachel. Nice to see a Welsh lady on here, not nice you have this dreadful disease. All the people on this site are very good at helping you along your journey with pmr especially pmr/pro and Devon lady who are particularly knowledgeable about this disease and are quick to answer and advise on any query you have. Heed their advice for they really know what they're talking about.
They have helped me no end.
hello, I too live in wales, Torfaen, i have been on preds since feb 40 daily now down to 7.5 daily dont try to come down too fast.
It will come with patience
I too feel its a struggle having had a bad flare i have had to give up so many things I enjoy, I am a folk singer and havn't enough breath to sing, I had to cancel a craft course I was so looking forward to. I have always been really busy, a multi tasked etc and it's so so hard to do hardly anything. Day time TV is awful. It's a bummer!
Hi, and welcome,
Sure changes your life doesn't it? But once you've accepted that fact, you can still enjoy life, albeit slightly differently. I think we'd all agree we don't like the meds, but that's what's keeping us going - so can't odds it really.
JJackdaw had neighbouring county, but I won't hold that again her - it's beautiful as well😉
