How long does it take for this to work daughter has RA had this jab today not doing well

There's no hard and fast rule with these depo shots. They rarely have the same affect on any two people and in fact I had one which worked well and one which didn't work at all.

She should have been advised to rest for 48 hours to allow the steroid to 'soak into' the system. I'm told that it's fairly common to have a couple of worse days following the shot (that didn't happen to me, but I did rest, I'm lucky that I am able to do so when I need).

And like everything else connected with autoimmune conditions, it could take some days to work and the degree to which it might work could be anything.

Sorry to be so negative. Just hope it works for her in a couple of days.

Thanks you confirmed what I had thought not holding out much hope had her first rumatolagist appointment on 15 December day after her 40th b/day blood tests showed RA markers x-rays inconclusive waiting for ultrasound scans.On naproxen codeine and amitriptyline.Being copeing with this for 8month's mentality not good all ready takes thyroxin thyroid killed by virus 17years ago coping with prolapse on top of all this .Why is it no matter our kids age we want to make it better

'Cos they're still our kids, I guess! My mum was still worrying about me the day before she died........she always said that your children never seem to grow up in your head.

Hi Olive. Ive had wuite a few of these depi medrol shots over the past two years. They usually take a couple of days to take full effect. Just when i think no, its not working, it kicks in. Hope your daughter gets some relief soon. Angela x

Update

Depo kicked in about 3 days ago shoulder pain that was keeping her awake has reduced so sleeping better. Spoke to her last night not a much strain in voice
