Yes well it is a talking head giving information! Hope that in the future we will be able to make more varied and engaging pieces involving people with PMR and GCA, as well as share this kind of talk.

Really! What a shame. I showed the video to all the members of the Surrey Support Group yesterday and it went down really well - you could have heard a pin drop in the room.

I found it really informative, and very inspiring and hopeful for sufferers in the future.

Useful to have factual presentation. The more information the better as far as I am concerned! Watched on Apple TV and have also found some other very useful clips on You Tube from across the pond on GCA including some clever medical presentations and graphics explaining how the jaw bone rubs against the carotid artery causing the jaw pain. Worth exploring You tube for those who want to know as much as possible!

I enjoyed the video, which I searched for and found on Youtube, as I couldn't get through on the original link previously quoted some time ago.

It was good seeing the person who is a major player in pushing for a much better handling of all aspects of GCA and PMR, and I wish him my thank's and good fortune in furthering his aim.

I would offer some thoughts on the presentation:

it should be succinct, i.e. punchy, short and to the point

it should be structured, with slides accompany each section

it should start by telling the audience what is going to be presented

it should present the message

it should remind the audience of the message

it should offer a link to the slides so they may be browsed to reinforce the message

As one who has GCA and has suffered a relapse I should like to be much better informed on several aspects of this disease:

1) What is the causes of relapse?

2) Are there any reliable blood test predictors of relapse?

3) Prolonged use of steroids, Prednisolone, give rise to muscle weakness. What exercise can a patient do to counteract the loss of strength. Also, my skin has thinned significantly. Can I do anything to counteract the problems that steroids cause (dietary or skin lotions etc).

The film is excellent and informative. It should be widely available and promoted to be seen by doctors and nurses.

I'm a bit late in replying but I so agree with you on 3). Apart from the mass of purple 'bruises' (they're not) on my arms - now spreading to my legs and face - my arms are spindly, wrinkled, ugly, weak appendages. I intensely dislike them.

I've also got a tablet but have been too ill to learn to use it! My WHOLE life is conducted via the Net or the 'old-fashioned' phone, although how I'll survive if my laptop malfunctions ...

I live "across the pond" so sometimes I feel left out of the very informative presentations that you have there in the UK. Also love the enthusiasm you folks in the U.K. give to learning more about PMR/GCA. ( I live in California USA). Thank you, Suzanne
