Hello Kate,

I found it slightly difficult to answer the 'how old were you at diagnosis' question as I had GCA about eight years ago (when I would have been sixty-five) but in spite of numerous tests and scans everyone I came into contact with was baffled and I was never diagnosed. It cleared up of its own accord, within a year. More bafflement all round!

This 2nd bout again went undiagnosed for months and has lasted just over two years so far, although it is definitely on the wane.

I put myself in the older age classification for voting, since I was not diagnosed in my sixties when first suffering with it.

I was diagnosed with GCA aged 54, I am now 68
