all will be fine hun, I know its scary Best advice i can give you is write a list of all your questions and fears take it with you and have some one go with you. Not because the news will be bad but because we can only take on board a certain amount of information when we are in an emotional state, if you have someone there with you they can fill in the gaps later. I cant emphasise enough knowledge is power the more you understand and take on board about PKD the more control you will have over your future. most of the fear is of the unknown and what you may or may not have to face and feeling as though you have no control. With knowledge you can make the decisions what is best for you and when. I have been through most of the things you may or may not face with PKD so if you need anyone to chat to about anything please dont feel your alone im here should you need :-) just message me.

I agree with crazymetalchic take someone with you. I used to go on my own and not remember what was said now I take either my husband or my friend as they take more in than me. Knowledge is definatly power in my experience over the last 25 years of having pkd not all consultants/gps know everything as it affects everyone differently and they can only go on general. Good luck and let us know how things go. Talking is always good believe me!
