Hi Charlie, as far as I know there aren’t any regional disparities between life expectancy with people who have PCD. The crucial determinant in this is about disease progression (e.g how bad your bronchiectasis is). The reassuring thing is that with good compliance with treatment (I.e doing physio twice a day, keeping fit, making sure you adhere to medication regimes and taking your antibiotics when you need them) most people are expected to live relatively normal lifespans. As with anything there are always specific factors - I would make sure you are seen by a specialist centre (Leeds/Bradford is this in the north at the moment) and discuss any concerns you have with them. Hopefully you can be reassured that there are plenty of older folk in the PCD community.
